Heavy metal band CKY (which stands for Camp Kill Yourself) consists of Deron Miller (vocals, guitar), Jess Margera (drums), Chad Ginsburg (guitar) and Vern Zaborowski (bass). Longtime friends Margera and Miller first hit the music scene with their band Foreign Objects in 1994. Two years later, they changed their name, recruited Ginsburg and Zaborowski and got a lucky break via Margera's pro skateboarding brother, Bam. When Bam scored a deal to star in a few skateboarding videos, he helped CKY land a deal to record the soundtracks, which became Camp Kill Yourself Vol. 1 and Camp Kill Yourself Vol. 2.
In 1999, CKY toured with the Vans Warped Tour and released the EP, Disengage the Simulator. Bam was again instrumental in propelling CKY into the mainstream when he took part in MTV's Jackass, which featured some of the band's music. Soon after, CKY got signed to Def Jam/Island Records and began work on their full-length 2002 debut, Infiltrate Destroy Rebuild. In the fall of 2002, the band was picked to open for Guns N' Roses on their highly anticipated yet ill-fated comeback tour. After a few dates, including a sold-out gig at Madison Square Garden in New York City, the tour was abruptly cancelled.
